On Worldpedigrees we have two types of databases:
Please note you need to be a Pro user to make changes - cost is US$20 per year or US$30 for three years. Currently the only open databases are:
This list will grow as we negotiate with our curent convenors for closed databases. We are also happy to host new databases where we believe they will provide a valuable service to the pedigree community - we don't charge for this but we are able to hopefully cover our costs via Pro users registration fees.
So how does it all work? The following sections describe how the Pro user could add/edit/delete and also how the convenor approves/rejects/bans.
From the home page click on the relevant breed, e.g the Border Collie as shown below:
The search page for that database will appear as shown below, then click on [ADD NEW ENTRY]
The Add new entry page will appear as shown below. We recommend that before entering any other fields, first try and enter the sire and dam. A record for the sire and dam must exist before they can be selected
The steps are go to the search page for that breed, eneter a search string relevant to the entry, click on "Search Now". When the search results are returned, click on the "Delete" or "Edit" link as appropriate. Please note that before performing any action you will be asked whether you really want to proceed.
The main task for convenors is to review all pending changes and either accept the change, reject the change or ban the user from this database (this also rejects their change). Note that if a record is "pending" then further changes cannot be made to it until the current change is either approved or rejected. A sample screen is shown below. Simply select the appropariate action in the combobox on the right of that row then when you have finished click on the "Process Actions" button. Note you don;t need to make a decision on every pending change.
